Molly Watson
Molly Watson has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and public relations. Her expertise extends to healthcare, community and government relations, with special emphasis on strategic planning, corporate communications and special events.
Working with a variety of clients, she has been responsible for the creation and implementation of major, proactive health education and brand enhancement programs for new and established products - guiding promotional strategies and developing tactics and policies that conform with best practice standards for public relations. Currently, Molly manages several projects for Ritz Communications, including providing strategic support for Schering-Plough's international Hepatitis C franchise.
Previously, Molly was a vice president in the healthcare practice for the Chicago office of GCI Group, a top 10 public relations agency. Molly was responsible for designing and implementing strategic public relations and marketing programs for a wide range of clients including Glaxo Wellcome, TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., Abbott Laboratories, the Chicago Institute for Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch (CINN) and iPhysicianNet, an innovative start-up that introduced physician video detailing.
Skilled in media management, Molly has secured significant placements
on "20/20" and The Wall Street Journal on a surgical
discovery impacting the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and
fibromyalgia; in Business Week on hospital healthcare finance
reform and on "60 Minutes," which produced "Violinist
Victorious Over Epilepsy" the story of concert violinist Martha
Curtis, an epileptic who still performs despite having had surgery
to remove nearly half her brain.
Molly also worked as a consultant for Flint, Michigan-based Hurley
Medical Center, a 495-bed publicly owned teaching hospital affiliated
with the University of Michigan and the Michigan State University
College of Human Medicine. There, her projects included a 1996 Academy
of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Award for Hurley Medical Center's
Healthbeat "Trauma in the ER," a 30-minute television
drama.
Molly has a degree in philosophy and French literature from Wells College. She is based in Massachusetts.
