Lisa McIntyre
Lisa McIntyre has extensive knowledge of healthcare communications, including work in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Her experience includes crisis communications, media relations, drug approval and launch programs, and corporate positioning, with particular expertise in women's health, diabetes and HIV/AIDS.
Previously, Lisa was a vice president in the healthcare practice
at Golin/Harris. She managed franchise development for Bristol-Myers
Squibb's Virology franchise (Sustiva®, Videx®, Zerit®
and Reyataz®) and directed a national consumer education campaign
for Pharmacia Corporation’s Detrol® LA. Lisa also oversaw
professional and patient education programs for Ortho Tri-Cyclen®
and Levaquin® (Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical), as well as the
HIV/AIDS portfolio for Abbott Laboratories, including Norvir®,
Kaletra® and Abbott International.
Prior to joining Golin/Harris, Lisa was with Cohn & Wolfe, where she managed program development for SmithKline Beecham's Avandia®. Activities included pre-approval science communications, medical meeting support, FDA approval and launch programs, and patient education. She also managed a variety of initiatives, including support for the approval and launch of Hoechst Marion Roussel's Arava®, ongoing support for Eli Lilly's Evista® and SmithKline Beecham's Lymerix®, Relafen® and Requip®.
Lisa also served as a senior associate at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where she worked on crisis communications for Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's organ transplant program and developed and managed communications targeted to healthcare professionals for Quaker Oats. Her responsibilities also included Rush Prudential Health Plans and the Sara Lee Corporation.
Serving as deputy press secretary at Share Our Strength, one of the nation's largest antihunger organizations, Lisa helped develop and execute national public relations initiatives for corporate partners, including the Charge Against Hunger campaign with American Express. Additionally, she developed and executed communications programs aimed at raising awareness of medical problems faced by women with inadequate pre-natal nutrition and children at risk of hunger.
Lisa also worked with the United States Olympic Committee during her tenure with Ruder Finn Public Relations. She has held internships with Maryland Governor William Donald Schaefer's Office of Justice Assistance and served as a legislative intern for Senator Robert Dole.
Lisa has a bachelor of arts degree in English and political science from the University of Vermont; she also studied at Oxford University in England. Lisa is based in Chicago.
