Diane Benson
Diane Benson brings 20 years of agency and corporate communications experience to her role as a consultant. Diane's areas of expertise include marketing communications, program management and strategic planning, media outreach and public relations coordination, advertising and direct marketing, and event planning and management.
Previously, Diane served as president of Bright Ideas Marketing, where she had 10 years of marketing communications experience specifically focused on healthcare clients, including major university-affiliated medical centers and both private and hospital-based physician practices. Her clinical expertise includes oncology, women's medicine, cardiology, dermatology, pediatrics and emergency medicine.
Diane has developed and managed introductory and ongoing direct-to-consumer and physician-to-physician communications and public relations programs designed to achieve patient acquisition and referral development objectives. Strategies have included multi-dimensional patient education and health awareness campaigns, medical meetings, continuing medical education events and the development of targeted clinical publications.
Diane is experienced in outreach to patient advocacy and support
organizations, forming mutually beneficial partnerships and securing
sponsorships on behalf of clients. She has initiated event co-sponsorships
and developed unique collaborative partnership programs with the
Epilepsy Center of Michigan, Very Special Arts and the American
Red Cross. One such partnership resulted in the national tour of
a client-sponsored original theatre production, with a performance
on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and a feature on "Good
Morning America Sunday."
Diane earned her bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She is a member of the American Marketing Association and the American Advertising Federation. Diane is based in Michigan.
