Carrie Sessine

Carrie Sessine brings more than eight years of marketing communications experience to Ritz Communications. Carrie manages international public relations efforts supporting Schering-Plough's oncology franchise, including Caelyx®, Intron® A and Temodal®/Temodar®. She has provided counsel, media relations, strategic development and program implementation for both consumer and professional initiatives.

 

Prior to joining Ritz Communications, Carrie was with Golin/Harris International where she managed new product launches, educational campaigns, internal and crisis communications, science communications, FDA approval activities and consumer education campaigns for clients including Abbott Laboratories, Aventis, CIBA Vision, the Florida Department of Citrus, Gerber, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Purina, SC Johnson and Schering-Plough. Prior to joining Golin/Harris, Carrie worked as a senior account executive at Cohn & Wolfe in Chicago.

 

On behalf of Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Carrie managed a variety of campaigns for their oral contraceptives, migraine and anti-infective prescription medications. In particular, Carrie led an extremely successful program commemorating the 40th anniversary of the birth control pill. The campaign resulted in placements in The New York Times, USA Today and more than 300 broadcast stories including Oxygen TV and "The Early Show." She also led the introduction of the Ortho Personal Pak™, the first pharmaceutical product to offer choice in its packaging, and the launch of new dispensers designed by leading fashion designer, Nicole Miller.

 

Working with CIBA Vision on the FDA approval of Night & Day® Continuous Wear contact lenses, Carrie provided strategic counsel, program implementation and media relations. This FDA approval announcement generated more than 180 million impressions, including Associated Press, CNN "Headline News," Health, USA Today and The New York Times.

 

Carrie earned a bachelor of arts degree from Purdue University. She is based in Chicago.
